Marathon in a nutshell
When does the race start?
The race takes place on Sunday, 10 May. The Volkswagen Prague Marathon starts at 9am for both, individuals and teams. The Volkswagen Corporate Prague Marathon starts at 9:10am.
How do I get to the start?
The start and finish will be on Old Town Square. You can easily approach the start from Staroměstská metro stop on the A line.
Where and when do I pick up the start numbers?
You can pick up your start number at the Marathon Expo. Follow the opening hours here:

What does the technical service area look like?

Where do I get a time tracking chip?
The chips will be handed out upon deposit of CZK 500/EUR 20. The chip will be attached to your start number. The deposit will be returned in the same currency as you paid at the technical service area after the race.
What to do if I do not receive the confirmation letter?
Please, check your registration in the registration section. If you find your name, all you need to do is to bring the confirmation of your starting fee payment or the confirmation of the bank transfer (we do not accept payment orders). If you do not find your name, please, contact us by email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
How to access the starting line?
From the technical area, you can only access the starting line by the Astronomical Clock.
How and when do I go to start lining up?
You line up in the start corridor according to your start number. The corridors are marked with a clearly-visible numeric signs. The runners will only be allowed in the appropriate corridor corresponding to their start number.
The line-up starts at 8am. We advise you to line up at 8:45am at the latest.
Refreshment points
Refreshment points are located on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th and in the finish. You will be handed refreshments in the following order:SPECIAL PERSONAL REFRESHMENT | DRINKING WATER | BANANAS, ORANGES, SUGAR AND SALT | ISOTONIC DRINK ENERVIT | WATER SPONGES
Apples will be available only at the refreshment point in the finish.Water sponges will be available at every 5th kilometre, starting on the 7.5th km. Drinking water and water sponges will be available at every refreshment point. All refreshment points located between the 5th and the 17.5th km are on both sides of the course. The points on the 22.5th, 25th and 32.5th km will be located only on the left side of the course; the rest will be on the right.
Corporate marathon
The race starts at 9:10am. You can line up in the special "Corporate Marathon" corridor in Železna street from 8am. The Corporate Marathon runners will start once all runners of the traditional marathon have left the start line. The Corporate Marathon runners are in no case allowed to line up in the starting corridors for the classic Volkswagen Prague Marathon ? or the whole team will be disqualified!
Corporate Relay exchange
- 1 (10 km) ? if walking, the meeting point is the corner of Old Town Square and Dlouhá street at 9:05am
- 2 (20 km ) ? if going by bus, the meeting point is the corner of Wenceslas Square and Jindřišská street (Krone department store) at 9am
- 3 (30 km) ? if going by metro, the meeting point is Můstek (the corner of Wenceslas Square nad Na Můstku street) at 9:15am.
TRANSPORTATION ? Volunteers and buses will provide transportation between the exchange zones.
- 1 (10 km) ? by foot, meeting at 9:05am, corner of Old Town Sq. and Dlouhá street
- 2 (20 km) ? by bus, meeting at 9:00am, corner of Václavské náměstí (Wenceslaus sq.) and Jindřišská street (at Krone)
- 3 (30 km) ? by metro, meeting at 9:15, Můstek (corner of Václavské náměstí and Na Můstku street).
