Kolo pro život 2010 (Bike For Life 2010)

This year, the biggest series of mountain bike races Kolo pro život has entered its second decade! (The season is starting on April 24th 2010 in Lety u Prahy with the Trans Brdy České spořitelny race.

Kolo pro život is a year-round series of mountain bike races for all age and skill levels. Everyone can participate - individuals, teams and whole families, men, women, children, veterans, as well as handicapped cyclists. Individual races are held from April to October in all regions of the Czech Republic. Every year, around 17 000 people take part. All races have the same rules and registration system, making it possible to gradually evaluate a range of competitions in 28 categories.

The main races are about 50km long, but it is also possible to take a longer trail – up to 100km. Beginners can get a taste of cycling in the so-called Fitness rides, which are around 20km in length. The entry fee covers a warm meal and drink in the finish and also a unique t-shirt from the race. The Junior Trophy program is prepared specially for children; in addition to organizing races in 6 age categories it gives lessons in riding a mountain bike and overcoming obstacles, and offers an event center with refreshments, lots of games and friendly professional supervision in the Kids' zone. Just like adult participants, even children can look forward to the official winners' ceremony and awarding of attractive prizes.

Participate in the Finale competition Kolo pro život 2010! Similarly to previous years, so will this season's mountain bike series finish with the announcement of the Finale competition winner and the winners of individual categories. The main prize of the competition is a new Škoda car. Anyone who completes at least one race of the Kolo pro život 2010 series can participate. Virtual Daum Trophy 2010 at the FOR BIKES fair

Would you like to see a virtual race on top quality ergometers Daum? Don't hesitate and come cheer for professional Czech cyclists who will be competing against each other in a computer simulation of a part of a real race!

The race starts on Saturday March 6th at 2 pm on the stage in hall #3.

The race will be broadcast on large screen with each competitor shown as a numbered mark. This mark will move on the map of the race depending on his speed. The ergometer makes it possible to shift gears by pressing a button just like during a real ride. The actual statistics such as pulse frequency, output in Watts, and speed will also be shown on screen for each biker. The race includes a visualization of the track from the view of the rider.
