Race rules of Hervis Prague Half Marathon, Volkswagen Marathon and Tesco Grand Prix

  • Hervis Prague Half Marathon and Prague Volkswagen Marathon are open to all runners over 18 years of age. Tesco Grand Prix is open to all runners over 15 years of age. All runners have to be officially registered. There are no age limits for non-competitive running events.
  • The race rules are adopted from the rules of the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF), the International Association Of Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and the Czech Athletic Federation (ČAS).
  • Qualification is separate for men's and women's races. International rules of IAAF/ČAS apply to veteran groups.
  • The race will take place regardless of weather conditions.
  • Skates, bicycles and other vehicles are strictly forbidden on the racecourse.
  • It is the runner’s responsibility to be physically fit and capable of completing the whole race.
  • PIM is not liable for any damage to property or injury incurred by participation in, or attendance at, the event. Participants can buy an “ad hoc” accident insurance provided by ALLIANZ directly at the EXPO.
  • The organizer has the right to close registration without notice.
  • Registration fee is final and non-refundable.
  • Change in relay / team race is subject of charge of 100 CZK.

Timekeeping

Time will be measured by means of chips provided by the company Timing Data Service. Chips are a part of the start number that has to be securely fastened on the participant's chest. Chips are non-transferrable, they may not be reprogrammed or used for any other race.

Start bag depository

The technical support area will be located near the finish. In the technical support area you can find: toilets, cloak rooms, start bag depository, washrooms, chip deposit/refunds, massages.

Participants may deposit only the PIM start bags, which they have received at the Expo, in the cloakroom.

NO OTHER BAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

First aid

First aid will be provided by the Prague Emergency Medical Service to runners at the start and finish area, as well as along the entire race course.

Finish photo and medal engraving

Each finisher can have his name and finish time engraved on a medal in the finish area. When crossing the finish line, don’t forget to smile! Photographers will take a picture of every participant at the finish line www.marathon-photos.com. You can order your photo online at  www.praguemarathon.com. Medal engraving and finish line photos will be available only for the Half Marathon and Marathon races.

Marathon Music Festival (MMF)

Marathon Music Festival is a music festival accompanying all races of the PIM Running circuit 2009. MMF will support runners throughout the entire race. At the start and finish areas and along the course, dozens of music bands, drummers and dancers will be performing to support the runners and contribute to the festive atmosphere of the race.

Charity

Runners of all PIM running circuit events can also support charity organizations through their participation in the races. Simply choose an organization you would like to support, fill in the PIM charity form and start fundraising.

When registering you can choose to support an ecology project “Adopt a tree”. For a fee of CZK 200 you become a “parent” to a tree planted in the Alley of nations (Krakow – Vienna tree alley). It is also possible to adopt a tree at Expo.

PIM Shop

PIM shop is the official merchandise shop selling adidas quality branded products of Prague International Marathon and all accompanied events.

Products are sold at excellent prices at every Expo. Don’t forget to stop by and check it out!
